Fwd: NUYCO: Long Awaited Audition Info!

NUYCO families (current, past, and prospective),

I hope you all have had a wonderful summer so far! I've missed spending rehearsals together and can't wait to get started again. There have been some exciting changes happening with NUYCO:

1. We have a brand new website! Same domain, different site. Check it out: www.northernutahyouthsymphony.org

2. We are excited to announce two new groups joining us this next season:
- The Wind Ensemble, under the direction of the NUYS brass specialist, Abigail Erickson. This group is geared for winds, brass, and percussion students in middle school with at least 2 years of playing experience. This will be like NUYCO but with the "band" instruments, and we are excited to offer some collaboration opportunities in the future. More info about NUYWE can be found here.

- The Preparatory Strings, under the direction of Elizabeth Marsh (mother of three of our NUYCO members last year). This group will be for younger string students who have had at least one year of playing experience. More info about NUYPS can be found here.

2022 - 2023 Season:
In-person auditions are scheduled for August 27th. You can also submit an online video audition if you can't make it. Click here for audition information.

Audition requirements haven't changed. Whether you do a video or come in person, you need to be prepared with a major scale, a minor scale, 60 seconds of a prepared solo, and the audition excerpt for your instrument found at the link above.

Maestro and I want this season to have the largest enrollment we have ever had! We need your help to make this happen. Please pass along this information to your family and friends. I've attached our new season poster that you can share on social media. Let's make this happen!

Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. Don't forget to sign up for auditions!

Enjoy the rest of your summer!
