Well Done, NUYS!

A Note For All Of You:

Bravo!

What a wonderful performance!

I was so proud of all three pieces. The quality and interpretation of the flute concerto was beautiful. You responded well to Dr Blanchard's baton in the Movie Spectacular - the audience loved the familiar music.

And I'm incredibly proud of each and every one of you for stepping up to the task to create one of the biggest performances we've ever done. It takes each individual learning their own parts so we can bring together a gigantic number like that! Every phrase and section of the 1812 right up to the last cannon shot and last ringing of the chimes of the church bells were so well done!

We had such an extended standing ovation that I walked off the stage and came back for a bow 3 times. The standing ovation spoke for itself. Every one of you should be proud of what you did with that music!

We will have a practice this Saturday and then we get to perform the Movie Spectacular and the 1812 Overture again at Abravanel Hall. And keep practicing it up, because we will be doing the 1812 Overture as an encore performance at Box Elder High School on April 26th.

Thank you again for all your work, and all your practice, and your heart and soul on stage the other night. It was simply thrilling!

Mr Dunn

Jed Connell, Bailey's grandpa, has shared these pictures from the concert with us with this note:
Please feel free to share these with everyone that wishes a copy.
They are yours from me without cost or obligation.
I hope you and the Orchestra enjoy them. I am glad to be of assistance.
Jed Connell

Thank you so much, Mr Connell!

If anyone else has photos they'd like to share, I'd be happy to facilitate that!
See you Saturday! Keep sending me your plans for Abravanel Hall!

Thanks,
Julie

Announcements, and REVISED Abravanel Hall Announcements

Hello, everyone!

Concert Reminders:
We'll see you tomorrow at Logan High at the concert, wearing concert black and ready to rock the house! You have all morning to practice!
Set up begins at 1pm
Call time for rehearsal 1:45
Rehearsal 2 to 3:15 (or so) followed by a break.
Bring a snack in a sack, and if you leave for a while,
Call time for concert 4:30 pm
Concert time: 5:00 pm

REVISED!
And.... the Abravanel Hall organizers have revised the schedule, so here is a revised paper. The permission slip is the same, and the excuse paper has slightly different times, but the info sheet now includes the seating assignments, and a revised schedule! Our session now begins at 12:30 and goes until 4 pm! So all the morning transportation stuff has been moved a half hour earlier!

Fun, right?

So, instead of sending an attachment which is really hard to recall after it's been suddenly revised, here is the link to the revised Abravanel Hall PDF. If you print it so it's one-sided, fill out the bottom half of the second page, and bring it tomorrow, I will ... smile a lot, and give you a fist bump! Please????

And, if not, I will have paper copies for everyone in Logan tomorrow so you can fill them out and turn them in. Tomorrow. Did I mention I need these tomorrow?
(All this info has also been revised on Monday's blog post.)

Thanks so much!

Julie

PS We have a new triangle and triangle beater! It's the most amazing thing I've ever heard! I hope you all are as amazed as I am!

Abravanel Hall Information -- Immediate attention needed

We have our schedule!

As we await confirmation from the bus company, we are going to assume that everything works out because you all need to be able to make plans.

I have copied and pasted the information below, but you can find all of it also in the attachment (along with an excuse letter for school and a permission slip to turn in to me). And here is a link to the (REVISED) attachment in case you are reading this on the blog.

Regarding the permission slip - I need it this Saturday! I will bring all this on Saturday printed out for you, but if you want to be on the ball, just print and fill it out for me now. You can take a picture and send it, or hand it to me when you arrive for the dress rehearsal.

Dress Rehearsal: We are not asking you to dress up for the dress rehearsal this time. But bring your concert black so you're in proper formal attire for the concert! and guys! Don't wait until Saturday to get your black bow ties!

Okay, here's all the Abravanel Hall info. Last year we were first. This year we are last! Let's end the day with a big booming blast!

Have a great day, and do let me know if you have questions!

Julie
