EARLY rehearsal on Saturday! 8-10 AM. Full rehearsal, no sectionals.

- 8:00-8:30 Lord of the Rings

- 8:30-9:00 La Virgen de la Macarena

- 9:00-9:30 Battalia, movements 1, 3, 6

- 9:30-10:00 Hebrides

Thanks for such a great attendance at the parent meeting on Saturday. It was great to meet a few of you and be together and get more details than can reasonably go in an email. :) If you have questions, please reach out! My phone number is at the bottom of every email and I am happy to help you out with anything.

If you didn't pay for tour last Saturday, a $15 deposit is due THIS Saturday unless you make other arrangements with me! You are welcome to pay the entire amount as well ($30 per NUYCO member, $15 per anyone else attending).

I believe I've sent out the recording of the meeting and the handout to all the parents who were not at the meeting. If I have missed you, I deeply apologize! Please email me!

Rehearsal Schedule for March 26

Hello NUYSO, 

Here is our rehearsal schedule for Saturday: (no sectionals this week)

8:00 am - doors unlock, help setup

8:00 - 8:20 - members walking through the door, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed! 

8:30 - all members in their chairs ready to begin.  Rehearsal order

- Poet and the Peasant

- American Salute

-Lord of the Rings

- @ 10 am, Beethoven violin concerto (Trombone and Tuba are excused)

- @ 10:30 am, Vaughaun Williams oboe concerto (rest of winds and brass are excused)

11:00 - rehearsal ends, everyone helps with clean up.
11:30 - doors lock

It is prom season, and we are very aware of the traditional expectations of having all-day activities with your dates.  We humbly ask you (okay...plead with you), to not forget us.  We need you!  If you need to leave a little early, that's fine.  Better yet, why don't wow your date with your amazing musical talents and bring them to rehearsal, OR if they are a musician have them bring their instrument and come play! Bottom line, we would greatly appreciate it if you were there for part, if not all, of rehearsal.  

Don't forget!! Next week, April 2nd, is our early rehearsal.  It will be from 8:00 - 10:00 am.

There is a Parent Meeting for Tour on Saturday! 10:30-11.  If your NUYCO member wants to go on tour, it is *really really important* that you are at the meeting. If you or another parent or guardian cannot make it, please let me know and we'll find a way to work it out. I planned it at this time so you would not need to make an extra trip; just come early to pick up your child!

NYUS Rehearsal Schedule

Greetings NYUS!

Here is our schedule for this week:

-  Vaughan Williams Oboe Concerto run through with Alexis (strings only - everyone else is excused)

I just want to take a moment to go over a trend in our group that seems to be getting worse.  Our first expectation for attendance in this group is that musicians arrive 15 minutes before rehearsal begins.  This is so you have plenty of time to unpack, get setup, and most importantly, warmed-up, so we can begin at 8:30.  I've noticed members walking in at or after 8:30 frequently. I'm not going to stand at the door and keep track of who comes in at 8:15, but I am going to ask that you are in your seat, whether it's for sectionals or combined rehearsal, ready to play at 8:30.   We have a big program this concert, and every minute is precious.  Please don't waste them! I understand that things come up that may put you behind schedule (and thank you to those that give me a heads up), but if you are consistently coming in late you may want to set your alarm 5-10 minutes earlier. Let's do better.  It's our final concert of the year, and we want it to be spectacular!

NEW Rehearsal Schedule - NUYCO

Hi families! 

Rehearsal plan for Saturday... if your member wants to participate in our fourth piece (Lord of the Rings with NUYS), rehearsal will start at 9:00 AM! If you don't want to participate in Lord of the Rings, come at 9:30 when we will rehearse the rest of the pieces. The great majority of the families are interested in participating so Maestro planned rehearsal to make it work. Music for LotR will be handed out on Saturday.
