Invitation to Youth Symphony Night of Concertos

Dear past, present and future members of the Lincoln Youth Symphony, parents, founders and supporters,

Here is an email invitation to this Saturday's concert. Please forward it to your friends and family!

Greetings!

The Lincoln Youth Symphony is putting on a Night of Concertos this Saturday, January 30th, 7:00 pm, at the Box Elder Middle School Auditorium, 18 South 500 East, Brigham City. The concert will be about an hour, and will feature flutist Jana Gardner, violinist McCall Andersen, cellist Emily Halling, and violinist Mitchell Andersen, as well as the Wind Ensemble and Full Orchestra. Admission: Adults $3, Children 11 & under and Seniors $1.50, Families $12.

This will be a night to remember! Jana Gardner, 17, is an award-winning flutist and early college student at Weber State University. She will be performing a few solo numbers to open the concert, accompanied by Misa Findlay.

Each year, the Lincoln Youth Symphony holds concerto auditions to select youth musicians to perform at the Night of Concertos. This year, three students were selected to perform at this concert.

McCall Andersen, 9, is a promising young violinist with considerable performance experience. She will be performing a movement from Vivaldi's Concerto in a minor.

Emily Halling is a sophomore at Box Elder High School and is our own Lincoln Youth Symphony's principal cellist. She will be performing Prelude and Courante by Eccles.

Mitchell Andersen is in 7th grade at ACYI and also has considerable performance experience. He will be performing a movement from JS Bach's Concerto in a minor.

The Wind Ensemble will be performing several numbers - with a few string players on percussion! - "Merry England" Fantasy, JS Bach's Prelude and Fugue in Bb Major, and the Phantom Regiment by Leroy Anderson.

The complete Lincoln Youth Symphony will end the concert with Toccata by Frescobaldi.

It will be a fun evening. We hope you will join us!
