Forms, Tuition, Retreat, FOOD, etc.

Greetings!

Just a reminder that tomorrow is the deadline for turning in the Acceptance, Release and Payment form. Thank you to all who have already done this.

Forms:
With our retreat coming up in just 3 weeks, don't forget your retreat forms tomorrow. There is a permission slip, and also an optional food suggestions form included at the bottom of the general information sheet. I automatically count everyone as "going" unless they tell me otherwise. Some people have already talked to me.

Important Food Announcement & Inquiry:
Our food committee head cooks from last year have discovered they will be unable to cook for the retreat this year. We have two options: Find someone else, or hire the Camp UTABA staff to provide the food for us. If there is anyone out there willing or able to feed upwards of 80 people for 24 hours, please contact me asap. (The camp kitchen is not available to us if we cater our own meals.)

However, we are not opposed to working with the camp staff for our menu needs, so don't feel too badly if you can't help out. I will have to know ASAP to coordinate our plans with them.

Looking forward to a great rehearsal tomorrow!

NUYS Today, Parent Meeting, Retreat

Greetings,

I enjoyed listening to rehearsal today! Fantastic. :)

Thanks, everyone, for coming to the parent meeting today! If you missed it, here is a link to a PDF version of the PowerPoint; if you see something you would like to volunteer for, let me know, or turn in a volunteer sheet!

T-Shirts
Please note that we are working on a T-Shirt design, and would like to have it solidified by next Saturday, so if you have ideas, check out the second-to-last slide on the above link.

Watch your email for a link to a Google Form for T-shirt size and color choices, coming soon. I loved the little cheer for the T-shirts. You are all so cool! :)

Year-in-Review 2013-14
Also, here is a link to the pictures and videos we had playing at the beginning of the meeting. (I waited to send this email until the upload was complete.)

Retreat
We handed out the retreat permission slips and the information sheet, including a food suggestions form. If you did not get these, please print off, fill out, and turn in. If you have a food allergy or similar situation, it is especially important that you turn in the food suggestion form.

Thank you so much!

Postcard to Print and Hand to Friends

Greetings,

Did the Postal Service do its job?

Did you receive your lime green postcard? Awesome!

Here is a sheet of postcards just like that one for you to print and hand to friends when you invite them to Come Play With Us!

To play the best and coolest music, we need more French Horns, more brass in general, more flutes... and, of course, all of you!

Thanks!
~ Julie

PS If you feel like seeing some silly pictures of Mr Dunn, you might want to check out this link:

Photo Shoot

Today we visited the park right before a thunderstorm and took some pictures for our new poster; we only needed one photo for the poster, but here are few more.

You! Yeah, You!!!

Conductor's workshop for nasal hygiene

I've always wanted a baton through my head!

Where is my baton?
Where is my baton?

Seriously, I can't find it anywhere!

My Baton?

Okay, I think I found it....

Thanks, Ms Dunn, I always wanted a chihuahua named Fiona ... that doesn't like me.

So, in case you were wondering what Mr Dunn is like, now you have a better idea. Maybe.

Name Change: Northern Utah Youth Symphony & Chamber Orchestra

The Lake Bonneville Symphonic Society, in celebration of its new fiscal year which begins today, announces that the Lincoln Youth Symphony and Lincoln Youth Chamber Orchestra will now be known as the Northern Utah Youth Symphony (NUYS - Say "Nice") and the Northern Utah Youth Chamber Orchestra (NUYCO - rhymes with LYCO).

Thank you for your continued support throughout the years, and please be patient with us as not everything about the name will change immediately (hence the Lincoln email address and website), yet, if you are looking for us on Facebook, search for Northern Utah Youth Symphony.

Audition scheduling available soon.

Have a great day,

Julie Gardner, Managing Director
Conrad Dunn, Conductor
