I met with Robert Bott and his wife Tiffany tonight! Doris D'Asto, LBSS chairman of the board, came over, too. It was a wonderful evening. This is going to be a GREAT year!
We are planning our retreat - as soon as we have the date officially reserved, we will let you know. Save your pennies - it will be about $35 per person including meals, and it will totally be worth it.
Robert Bott will be conducting the LBCS (Lake Bonneville Community Symphony) and LYS combined Peach Days concert, but since he works until 6:30pm in Layton, we will have to improvise a little. We will be sight-reading music... And possibly working on some spots in sectionals until about 7:15. We will read through as much of the music as possible with our conductor in the last hour and 15 minutes of the rehearsal. Our first rehearsal will be this Tuesday, August 17th, at 6:30pm.
We will be adding one or two Thursday rehearsals, and we will let you know as soon as they are scheduled.
This is a Shout-Out to please let me know by reply email if you are planning to play. This is kind of last minute, but it is going to be so fun, and a great chance to work with Robert and get to know him!
Thanks to those who have already told me your plans.
And deepest apologies to all you graduates who are not around here anymore and keep receiving my entertaining emails. As soon as I have a new list for this year, I will no longer bother you. :)
Julie Gardner
LYS Managing Director
