Lincoln Youth Symphony: Peach Days & Updates to Website
I am transitioning away from using googlepages as the main website (the URL is about to change) (when google gets around to it!), so from now on the main website that we will launch from will be LincolnYouthSymphony.blogspot.com. All the information that was on the previous website will still be there... Google is just changing everyone's URL! I keep waiting for it to happen, and I've decided to just pretend like it already has. So check out the blogspot page, and notice the fantastic link to the calendar where I have everything up, including auditions, rehearsals and concerts for LYS and LYCO for the entire year!

LYS Concert Report, April 24th, 2009
- Our concert last Friday was wonderful! Thank you for all your effort and time, and extra driving. You worked hard this year, and we all grew a lot!
- If you did not turn in your music (I haven't sorted it yet, but you know if you didn't turn it in), please get it to me somehow -- and soon. I live at 2800 S 1200 W, Perry, UT 84302. Or call me. Or email me. It is so much easier to file everyone's music at once instead of filing it piece-meal! Thank you in advance for your help with this.
- As soon as I have solid information on next year's calendar, I'll send it. If you have friends that might be interested please let me know so I can send the information to them also!
- Thank you for your extra time at the end of the concert so we could take photos. When I get them, I will share them. Thank you to Mr. Wood for so graciously taking those photos for us!
- I you ordered the photo at Abravanel Hall, I will let you know as soon as I receive it (they haven't come yet), and we will make delivery arrangements!

LYS Extra Report
Location UNChanged: It will be at ACYI Time STILL Changed: 5:00 to 7:00 pm. We will be combining with LYCO for our one and only rehearsal together from 5:00 to 5:30, and then running our pieces to prepare for the concert the next night. Thanks for working with us on this time change. Please make every effort to be at this rehearsal. It is very important!
We will begin our rehearsal at 8:00 a.m. Call time is 7:45 a.m. Thank you for being on time! It will, once again, begin with a short sectional. Please come prepared with trouble spots that you are concerned about so we can make the most of each other's time.
Keep practicing the following:We will hand out a very easy piece called Cowboy Rhapsody that we will play combined with LYCO at the end of the concert. It will be fun, and since it is easy we'll be able to play very well. Having LYCO on the stage with us will be a nice ending to the year!
- Intermission - 10 Minutes
- Lord of the Dance
- Dvorak Scherzo (third movement)

A big welcome to Courtney McDonald who has come to play percussion for us! Awesome! The treats people brought were so fun! Thanks for your participation. I know it's never easy to give your Saturday Mornings to LYS, but it also takes a special group of committed musicians to make it work, and you are those people! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your commitment and time and practicing and laughter. You are what makes LYS a great place to be on Saturday Mornings.
Now it's time to practice, listen to recordings (see this post on the blog for Youtube links - but ignore the Grieg Hall of the Mountain King), and practice some more.
