Hello families, what a wonderful concert on Saturday! You performed so well and I was complimented so much on your behalf. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication this year.

I will have a big box to collect folders after the concert. Do NOT take your folder or music home with you! Please DO take anything out that you would like to keep, i.e., personal music, school music, or concert programs.

Kathryn is wrapping up the Noteworthy program for this year. Any tickets that are still in your folders or music cases need to have your name written on the back and turned into Kathryn by the concert! Names will be drawn on Monday and sent out in an email.

As mentioned on Saturday, we are changing things up for all four ensembles for next year. If you are hoping to make it into the Symphony, that may happen, it may not, we are not really sure yet how things are going to come out. We are making changes for YOUR benefit and trying to make the best decisions we can. Thanks for sticking with us - it's going to be a great year - keep your eyes on your email over the next month or two!

We are starting a trial run of a new incentive program. The purpose of this program is to increase the musicianship of our members. On the attached sheet it lists a series of tasks you can do to earn a ticket for our drawing. The more tickets you earn, the more chances you have to win! We will be giving away three $15 Amazon gift cards after this concert cycle. You can fill out your tickets at the information table before or after rehearsals on Saturday or during your break.

Utah Symphony Concert

Onstage Ogden has set up a special promo code for our group (NUYS15 for 15% off) for the Utah Symphony concert of Gustav Holst's The Planets (with projected images of space) on March 27 at Weber State. Onstage Ogden also has Performance and Scholarship Opportunities. Each year they give out several scholarships to middle school and high school kids to help them with the cost of their musical learning(scholarships can pay for lessons, instruments, music, etc.) Check out their website for information on these opportunities

We Need Help

For our last concert, we need to transport our timpani. That means we need a closed trailer and a truck to pull it. No one in our board of directors has anything that will work, so we are calling upon our fabulous families. The truck and trailer will need to be at Promontory at 10 am on April 19, drive the timpani to MLMS by noon, and then return the timpani to Promontory about 6 pm. Alternatively, we can rent a U-Haul trailer but still need a truck. Please let me know if you can help.

Recital Night

This is not a concert. This is an extra, audition-only, performance opportunity. There will be three NUYWE members performing, along with some NUYPS, NUYCO, and NUYS members. It will be a great performance and we would love to have other members and families join us! 7:30 pm, tomorrow night (January 25), at the Box Elder Tabernacle.

Dress Rehearsal

NUYS is having a dress rehearsal before the concert. Currently NUYWE is not participating in that. Keep practicing and that probably won't change!

Wendy's Fundraiser

We are doing a fundraiser this year with Wendy's. It will be on Feb. 11th from 3-10pm at Wendy's in Brigham City (715 S. Main St.).
