Rehearsal Schedule - Starts at 8 AM!!!!

Greetings!

Tomorrow the weather will be super fine, and we can't wait to see you!

Music

When you arrive tomorrow, you will receive your trumpet concerto music if you haven't already picked it up. 

Here is a link to a video; if you haven't watched it yet, just get a snack and sit down and make yourself do it before tomorrow. This is a link I haven't sent before. It's a video where you can watch the score! Super cool.

Time Schedule Tomorrow

Tomorrow's rehearsal will be starting at 8:00 am with sectionals in the following locations:

Woodwinds, to the right then left

Brass, to the left then right

Violin 1, library

Violin 2, to the right then right (by the woodwinds)

Viola, entry hall

Cello-Bass, cafeteria

Percussion, practice room

Brass and woodwind sectionals will go until 9:30.

Strings will come together for a full sectional at 9:00.

Break 9:30-9:40. 

At 9:40, Drew will perform his concerto with his mom accompanying, and with Mr Dunn "cuing" the orchestra while you all follow along in your music. 

Rehearsal will end at 11:30. 

Messiah rehearsal until 12:30.

Water & Snack

I know it'll be a long morning! Bring a water bottle and a granola bar or other snack if you will need it.

Rehearsal Canceled

Today's rehearsal is canceled due to icy conditions throughout Box Elder County, and Sardine Canyon is "Snow Covered with snow tires, chains, or 4WD advised".

The rental music is available for pick up at my house anytime this week for those who want to have it earlier than next Saturday (recommended if you can).

Rehearsals 1/28, 2/4, 2/11, 2/18 will be from 8 am to 11:30 am to try to make up lost time and put the 2/25 concert on in good style!

Our concert will consist of Finlandia, the Tchaikovsky, and the Trumpet Concerto. We will save Indiana Jones for a later performance this year, possibly Abravanel Hall, or the April concert.

Weather

We are watching road conditions and weather and will let you know early tomorrow morning whether or not we decide to cancel rehearsal. 

(Note: We will only send text messages if we decide to cancel. If we decide to go ahead with rehearsal, only an email will be sent.)

Any feedback or reports on conditions in your area are welcome and will be considered as we make this decision. Please send them by replying to this email.

If we do run rehearsal, please come only if you feel safe.

Emergency announcement about rehearsal location for tomorrow AND Tour Application & Consent Form

Emergency Announcement: 

Promontory School is having a plumbing emergency right now, and will not be available for our rehearsal tomorrow. They will be working feverishly tomorrow to clean up and fix the problem so they can be open Monday for school.

Instead, rehearsal will be held at the regular time, 8:30 to 11:00 (and 9:30 to 11:00 for Chamber), at:

BOX ELDER HIGH SCHOOL

380 S 600 W, Brigham City

Park around the South side of the school and enter the South Door, by the band room. Everyone needs to bring a music stand. We cannot bring stands from Promontory, and they do not have enough for us at BEHS.

Tour Parents & Musicians:

Please print the attached form and complete the needed information for our tour company.  In addition, submit this form with your $100 deposit or just submit this form if you have already made that deposit this Saturday or next.

If you want a hard copy of the form, they will be available at the rehearsal tomorrow.

If you haven't committed to the tour and are interested:  NOW IS THE TIME!  Please submit your Tour Application & Consent Form along with your $100 deposit by Saturday, January 14th.

NUYS Tour Details

Greetings!

Can you believe it's been 3 weeks? I'm glad we are getting started again tomorrow! There is much to do before our Feb 25 concert!

For everyone that signed up for tour, I think it's getting better and better!

We have added a stop (with performance) at Cove Fort on the way down, and a visit to Zion National Park (no performance) on the way home.

Money:

For everyone who paid a deposit, here's how it's working. The January 15th deposit of $100 each will be paid by LBSS to Educational Tours in one giant check. This means if you already paid $50, the other $50 is due either this week (preferred) or next (as a last resort). Please make checks payable to LBSS. If you already paid $100, you just need a form filled out (see below).

Thereafter, Educational Tours will issue you a coupon book and you will pay your tour fees directly to them. 

Fundraising:

We have two people signed up for a February fundraiser. Hopefully you've copied and sent out your December fundraiser (the letter requesting donations from all your friends and relatives), so by February you will know exactly how much more you need to raise.

Important Form Info:

Tomorrow we will have an official brochure (revised from other times) with a contract. Even if you've already paid your $100, we need this little contract so Educational Tours can set up your account. Hopefully I'll also have this brochure to send electronically by the end of today, in case you want to print it at home and just send it in to us.
